Reporting to the Director of Development, the Volunteer Services Coordinator is a key member to the Children of Promise,NYCDevelopment team and is responsible for implementing and maintaining an exemplary volunteer experience. The position's goal is to significantly scale up volunteer leverage and strategically works to create a multi engagement volunteer experience. This position's success should ultimately result in volunteers with a deeper engagement, working as stewards of the organization's mission to end intergenerational incarceration, reflecting a commitment to the Agency's excellence, long-term growth and success.
Develop training/outreach materials to effectively recruit and manage volunteers and interns; conduct orientations, tours and training sessions.
Efficiently manage the documentation process, data collection and coordinate all necessary background checks for volunteers etc.
Cultivate/manage a volunteer database to track volunteer hours and source dedicated volunteers when needed to representCPNYCat speaking engagements and Agency events.
Work under the supervision of the Director of Development to create a volunteer-to-donor strategy. Aiming to increase individual donations, matched giving contributions from volunteers and their respective corporations and identifying additional funding opportunities.
Support the Director of Development with the planning and execution of appropriate and meaningful volunteer experiences and other donor/ funder collaborations and events atCPNYCwith a strategic focus to significantly increase the number of volunteers, corporate engagements and associated funding opportunities.
Develop a "skill based" professional group of volunteers to meet the unique needs of a growing organization.
Develop and execute metrics and reporting, to include reporting on recruitment goals, demand fulfillment, volunteer-donor status, volunteer hours of key partners, value of volunteer hours, etc.
Manage a volunteer recognition program, including volunteer recognition events and activities following set schedules and within budget, to thank and acknowledge key individuals and organizations, with an effort to grow the relationship and connection toCPNYC.
Bachelor's degree, and/or appropriate related volunteer management experience
2+ years of volunteer management experience in a non-profit setting
Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking. Highly organized
Ability to prioritize big picture ideas and execute into tangible actions
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse variety of individuals
Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
Based on experience and relativity to the role expectation.
